Reviewing wines, is extraordinarily subjective. Everyone's palate is different and individual tastes can vary widely depending on many factors. The wines I review for www.napleswinenews.com are my personal selections.

I do not assign scores, I post only those wines I enjoy. Many wines that are tasted for review do not get posted simply because I don't enjoy them, and I buy the wines I review. I do not make a practice of accepting free wines from wineries, distributors or merchants.

I offer a broad flavor profile of each reviewed wine. I find many of the wine descriptions many reviewers and critics offer border on the absurd (i.e. elastic tannins, tarry notes, etc.). I instead choose to offer readers background on the wine, the producer, the grapes origin or geography.

I select wines I consider to be a good “value,” wines. The wines I review are generally widely available, retail under $20, and offer good quality for the price.

I hope you agree with this approach and continue to enjoy the wines I review.
